Born in 1977, Elric Miault spent his childhood in French Guiana, New Caledonia and Tahiti. At nineteen, Elric decided to cross the Atlantic. He then took up residence in Greenwich Village, New York, where he indulged in his passions: writing and drawing. It was at this time that he painted his first series of paintings. This was presented a few months later at a “business party” in Rhode Island and was a great success: all of the works were sold. It will be a decisive experience for young Elric. Shortly after, he exhibited fourteen paintings at the “Revel Gallery” in Soho, thus confirming his vocation.

His professional path now mapped out, Elric Miault returned to the old continent in 1997. Installed in France, the young artist then had the idea of mixing gold leaf and gold leaf with his pictorial technique. silver, in the noblest tradition. In the future, his style will not depart from the use of these precious metals, copper and bronze simply broadening the range. The same year was also marked by initiatory journeys. Morocco first, where Elric Miault learned the use of pigments at the Sefrou weavers' center, then Japan, where he learned how to use urushi lacquer. It was then that the major influence of colors and precious metals was established in his style. At the end of 2007, during an exhibition in Casablanca, his painting “Djiins” became the property of the Marrakech Museum. Madrid will then be his home port for a year.

Permanently established in France, the artist will still spend four months in Rome, the eternal city, and will soak up his long the history of art. At the same time, his works were exported to Stockholm where they were presented at the Gunnrummet gallery. During this period in Paris, the artist donated his work entitled “The Prayer” to the Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation in the spring of 2007. On May 4 of the same year, the Vatican Museum acquired the painting entitled “The Rose” . Elric Miault thus becomes the only living artist to have his work exhibited in the prestigious Museum of the Vatican City. On June 15, it was the Museum of the Legion of Honor and Orders of Chivalry which, anxious to modernize its collection, chose the painting “The Eaglet”.

Elric Miault and his family share their time between their home in Vexin and the ocean shores, offering the artist the space and tranquility that his inspiration and maturity demand. Surrounded by the love of his family, the artist serenely continues his pictorial research. Since 2009, he has exhibited in France, notably at the Grand Palais, at the Espace Pierre Cardin as well as at the Carrousel du Louvre with the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, but also in Brussels and Tel Aviv.

Twenty five years after the artist's debut, the works of Elric Miault are present in a number of international private collections and museums.
