Born in 1954 to a family of Yoruba wood carvers in South West Nigeria.I was in Ghana for my primary and secondary schools. I came back to Nigeria in 1969 to complete my secondary and tertiary education. I have BA Fine art in Painting from Ahmadu Bello University, MA Visual Art in African art history and Ph.D in Art History from Commonwealth Open University, British Virginia Island, UK.I taught art for 35 years in The Polytechnic Ibadan Nigeria, where I retired.I have attended artist in residence and workshops both nationally and internationally, in Africa, USA,Europe and Asia.My collections are in public and private collections including the World Bank Headquarters Washington DC. I am currently the CEO and founder, Centre for Afrikan art and Designs Awotan Ibadan Nigeria.I have national awards and 6 international ones.I'm happily married with children.
