Figurative in her themes — notably the human body, nudes, embracing couples, trees — her sources of inspiration can be found in several stays she made in Morocco where the discovery of the desert orients him pictorially towards “a denser material coming to catch the eye”, just as the summer of 1984 on the Albion plateau offers him the awareness of formal analogies between the trunks of dead almond trees and human bodies. However, she then approaches lyrical abstraction through a free exuberance of shapes and colors which, gradually, leads her towards a pure research on shapes and light through which she does not disavow a kinship with Mark Rothko, to finally “return towards an essential figuration which claims to be an exploration of its relationship to the worlds of the living, to nature, to its spiritual aspirations” (Wikipedia extract)
