Eduard Potapenkov is a contemporary Ukrainian painter. The artist brings up many issues and invites the audience to engage in a visual conversation. His artwork addresses contemporary issues such as the battle between society and the individual, the need for self-identification, and the attempt to live up to set ideals. He presents his reality to us via the prism of his creations; in doing so, he creates a unique narrative that can be experienced indefinitely. We are immediately thrust into the author's world, and it is up to each of us to determine if it is a made-up world or a real place.
Eduard Potapenkov was born in 1968, in Ukraine, where he graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. From 1993 to 1996 he was a member of the ‘’Kholodny VEL’’ art association. Permanent member of the creative group "Squat on Olehivska". Since 1990 he has participated in many group and solo exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. His works are in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the USA, China, and Singapore.
