Djihem was born in France, in 1964. He currently lives in the south of France, close to Perpignan. Self-made painter, he largely took as a starting point his ground of origin and particulary the island of Bréhat. He also impregnated himself of his travels in Africa. Consequently, his painting is often inspirated by that continent. Djihem also likes to express with humour, or most simply, symbols and the currently life with immature and child eyes. His work, which oscillates between art singulier and raw art, is of a very varied style. Indeed, he does not like to always make the same thing and his research is permanent.
Djihem is very admiring Step of Jean Dubuffet and is very interested by the works of the initiators of the CoBrA movement and the free figuration.
