A man from the west, Den Chamanie was born in Angers in 1967 with a passion for drawing, pencil in hand.

It was therefore only natural that at 17, when his wanderings led him irresistibly to places since his early childhood, when the Fine Arts of Angers officially opened the door to him.

There he studied the various graphic techniques as well as audiovisual communication until ; in 1988, exhibiting at the same time his first works of painting and drawing across the city.

Very present in the musical network, he exercises his line there for the posters and covers of the Angevin groups, produces fanzines and animates radio programs as well as evenings. Multiplied painting performances and dropped out of Fine Arts before graduation...

In 1989 his gaze turned to Paris and the Grapus group.

The adventure began with the arrival within the Associated Graphic Designers, a workshop resulting from the Grapus group (collective of graphic designers claiming the status of author whose influence will extend both in France and internationally). There he shaped his profession as a graphic designer, that of the art of the printed image.

In 1994, the desire to fly on his own and become definitively independent, coupled with the pleasure of painting, missing, he leaves the group.

Graphic designer, but he resumes his brushes specializing in the art of the portrait, as the subject of his work. He multiplies exhibitions in bars, squats and workshops of Parisian artists. He realizes performances and frescoes both in New York with the group Lo'Jo, He is in Prague at the fall of the Berlin wall, in Brussels... But, he also draws and illustrates for the newspapers: L'Huma and L' Humanity Sunday, Liberation, Revolution, Looks, etc.

In 2001, the desire for nature and daily tranquility brought him back to Anjou.

There, there sets up his new workshop in the countryside of a postcard setting and also the sweetness of Angevin. While his association with the local scene continues, begins a long epic of seven years of graphic creation with the Santa Macairo Orkestar.

At the same time, there will be collaborations with the Théâtre du Champ de Bataille, the Artothèque d'Angers, the traveling program of Villages en Scène or the international festival of street arts Les Accroche-Cœurs in 2005.

Until 2013, the year when he offered a new turn in his life. Far from the compromises of the command inherent in graphic design, he snorts and redefines his notion of "Freedom" and such an evidence, then turns peacefully exclusively towards painting and its timelessness.
