Sa formation picturale académique a été faite au sein des Ecoles des Beaux Arts de la Ville de Paris .
L'atelier, le dessin d'après modèle, la nature morte, la peinture expressionniste l'amène a être entouré de professeurs et d' artistes dans la mouvance du salon Réalités Nouvelles
Une première série de tableaux intitulée Still Life joue sur la notion du vivant et de l'impossible deuil. Des arbres morts répondent à une flore exubérante.
