"TUESDAY SWING" is a mixed media collage street art/pop-art artwork on paper that captures the essence of nostalgia and urban vibrancy. This evocative artwork shows two young boys standing together on an old, weathered swing, suspended at a time when youthful innocence met the gritty backdrop of urban decay.

The composition juxtaposes the carefree joy of childhood with the stark reality of the industrial environment. The boys' presence forms a striking contrast against the background of dark, dilapidated factory buildings. The monolithic structures loom in the background, their worn facades and dilapidated windows telling a story of bygone industry.

The combination of vibrant colors, ancient textures and nostalgic elements invites viewers to reminisce about their own childhood and reflect on the passage of time.

db Waterman is a contemporary Dutch artist. In her works she assembles original photography, assorted papers, acrylics, oil, charcoal, ink, and pencil. The variety of resources she is able to use has proved indispensable to her. The biggest challenge the collage medium posed was its unforgiving lack of transparency. Finding a way to replicate the effects of transparency afforded by paint, especially watercolors, was a large victory for the artist. The preparing labor shows through in her collages; layer upon layer of material remains visible in the finished pieces.

db Waterman believes that the body of her work is characterized by her skill for reinvention. Having always loved the appearance of weathered walls plastered with peeling paint and old posters, she revived this aesthetic with hopefully a keen and professional eye. The creative objective of her work is to “make something beautiful out of dilapidation.” Her tableaus explore the dissonance between old and new materials, intertwined in the most beautiful way possible to create dreamlike and melancholy images.
