I'm happy you took a moment to look at my BIO. My name is Rose (nickname: DaRosa) and I was born in Holland. I moved to Canada in October 2008 to live with my boyfriend and his two sons. I just packed and crossed the ocean in a heartbeat. In March 2009, our baby boy was born and he has been a great inspiration for my paintings.
Art is something I have always enjoyed doing. After years of working in the satellite communications business, I decided to give my creative side a chance and became a full time artist. My focus is on art for the little ones!
I love color and simplicity! I try to make paintings that appeal to babies and little children (and parents ;). Besides decorating a nursery or sprucing up your child’s room, my art will help stimulate your baby’s eyesight.
From the day my baby was born he was mesmerized by my art: at first by the black and white zebras and slowly he started staring at my other paintings. Now each night we walk the room and look at all the animals before he goes to sleep. He points at frogs, lions and geckos and the best thing of all, no matter how tired he is, he smiles!
The bigger boys are helping me out too. They give advice on what animals are popular and they rate my paintings. On a scale from 1-10, I usually end up with a “one million and 100 and 15”. We paint together and they love to see me work.
