Born in Hertford, England in 1968 I always had an artistic inclination from a very early age, which I decided to pursue further after leaving school. I attended various art colleges culminating in a degree in fashion illustration. I am very interested in fashion and style, and my main influences are Manolo Blahnik, Sue Macartney Snape, Claude Lorrain, Penny Sobr, Chanel, Rene Gruau, Kate Moss, Andy Warhol's shoe drawings, Franz Marc's use of colour, Syd Mead, Jilly Cooper, Victoria Mather, Tatler magazine and Bystander, Dafydd Jones, to name but a few. I try to convey a sense of English eccentricity and style in my work, I prefer to illustrate stylish and slightly snooty society women, the sort of woman who works in PR and shops in Chelsea. I'm a fan of Sex And the City, too, and some of Samantha's outfits have certainly been an influence. I enjoy working on subtle caricatures, and I also like to work from real life...I spent a few days at the Derby sketching fashionable people in all their fantastic outfits and incredible hats. Hats, shoes and handbags play a pivotal role in my work, and I enjoyed drawimg bags so much I eventually secured a job working as a designer at Karen Millen. This was a great experience, being at the centre of activity in a contemporary fashion house, but in the end it proved to be too stressful for me, so I settled back into illustration. However, I am starting to get back into drawing more and more exciting shoes, of which I will be posting in the future. Shoes are so much fun to draw and design, mine are mostly high heels, rather like Jimmy Choos or Manolos, or Christian Louboutins, and I love the sexy and elagant combination. I hope you enjoy browsing my artwork, please get in touch if you like my stylish drawings.

All the best
