Madeira is full of surprises. This is an incredibly green and bright island of eternal spring. Funchal market is a great place to discover not only great local cuisine, but also amazing flowers and plants.
The flowers are simply incredible: fluffy Mimosa, bright strelitzia, incredible Protea, delicate Orchid, and other unknown specimens merged into a bright and colorful carpet.
This is an amazing celebration and diversity of nature.

Hi, I am Arina Markevich - a professional artist and designer.

I've been designing clothes for 20 years, but for the last few years, I'm having a serious passion for painting.

I am interested in studying the processes of transformation of the spirit and soul, the areas of sacred spaces and the structure of worlds, knowledge about the nature of Time, the Cosmos and the very essence of being.

I cannot do without creation. It will allow me to express on canvas all the amazing discoveries in the field of metaphysics, cosmogony and other mysteries that I am starting to discover step by step.

Now, I attribute the direction in which I work to metaphysical painting, but I also make extensive use of vivid symbols and images, trying to catch a fleeting "understanding" of the miracle of creation, and the essence of the game that is called Life.

My canvases are quest paintings, game paintings, book paintings, metaphors, road signs for all searching minds.

I want to engage the viewer into the dialogue, thinking, in to the search for the clue. Maybe you could understand my plan, and maybe you will find your own, completely individual deep sense.

I needed an interesting technology of painting, to embody the ideas that literally appear in my imagination, with precision to the smallest detail.

I paint with the technique of optical lumen. Studying the properties of paints and pigments, their ability to reflect light, the order of application and layering of pure spectral colors, allowed me to get the effect I needed. Deep iridescent colors that literally light up when hit by a sunbeam!

I think I can find an architect with whom we can create an amazing space, with a surprise, and a kind of show-performance, in a single house. After all, if you calculate the passage of the sun and the location of the windows on the sides of the world, you can just get a "WOW" effect from the reviving fiery colors.

I have been painting my works for quite a long time, working on several paintings at the same time. This is required by the technology, the layers must dry out. But I even like it, because an invisible connection is established between me and the painting, which is being powered and grows up every day. Time allows you to think about every step, and to anticipate what the canvas itself will tell you.

I hope you will feel all the energy and love that is invested in every stroke of my brush stroke!

I expect to do a lot, because I'm just at the start of my way!
