J'ai peint ce pont d'après une photo prise sur place, à Béziers, dans l'Aude. J'ai travaillé en acrylique, puis je suis revenue sur certaines parties du tableau à l'huile. C'est une technique que j'aime bien, car elle allie la souplesse de la peinture à l'acrylique en terme de séchage rapide, et la richesse des couleurs de l'huile. Je n'ai pas retouché la partie sous le pont (eau, reflets), car je la trouvais bien transparente, et je n'ai pas voulu risquer de la gâcher. Pour un connaisseur de l'endroit, tous les détails ne seront pas exacts, mais l'avantage de la peinture, c'est qu'on fait ce que l'on veut. La tranche de la toiles est peinte en noir, et le tableau a son accrochage. C'est un beau souvenir de vacances.
I painted this bridge from a photo taken on the spot, in Béziers, in Aude. I worked in acrylic, then I returned to certain parts of the painting in oil. it's a technique that I like, because it combines the flexibility of acrylic painting in terms of quick drying, and the richness of the colors of oil. I didn't retouch the part under the bridge (water, reflections), because I found it very transparent, and I didn't want to risk spoiling it. For a connoisseur of the place, not all the details will be exact, but the advantage of painting is that you do what you want. The edge of the canvas is painted black, and the painting has its hanging. It is a beautiful memory of vacation.
