CLAIRÉJO c’est l’histoire d’un couple passionné d’art et de brocante. Ensemble, ils chinent des tirages photographiques abandonnés, des souvenirs en trop, déposés ça et là.
Ces tirages vintage (de la fin 19e aux années 80) sont rehaussée de broderies manuelles en coton. Chez ce couple d'artistes tout est propice à conquérir de nouveaux territoires et à clamer leur humour.

Clairéjo is the fruit of the meeting between two creative souls, Claire and Jo, who share a common passion for heritage, art, and aesthetic repair. Claire, a 20-year-old iconographer, and Jo, a professional journalist and child of artists, form this unique artistic duo. Their creative journey took them around the world, where they brought back photos, textiles, and rugs, before embarking on the art of textile repair and creation themselves.
Inspired by the Japanese concept of kintsugi, which celebrates the beauty of repaired objects, and the Anglo-Saxon "visible mending", Clairéjo is dedicated to enhancing the marks of time on old objects. Their artistic approach transforms and reveals the old by adding a personal touch, embodying their philosophy of "beautiful to imperfect".
Claire and Jo, both from the world of the magazine press, chose to take a turn towards artistic creation to express their creativity on a daily basis. This change, far from being a rupture, is for them a continuation of their passion for photography and textiles. They see their work as a way of reinterpreting the past while respecting its memory, whether by coloring, embroidering or repurposing everyday objects.
The duo also makes a point of adopting an eco-responsible approach in their creation. By working on existing objects and limiting their ecological footprint, Clairéjo contributes to the fight against pollution in the fashion and decoration industries. Their workshop, located in Picardy, is the scene of this quest for renewal, where they up-cycle textiles and furniture, ensuring the origin of their materials.
At the heart of their approach, repairing the old without hiding the marks of time, Clairéjo embodies a modern vision of craftsmanship, where beauty is revealed in the imperfect, and where each creation tells a story, that of a second life offered with love and respect for the past.
