I was born in Charleville-Mezieres, Arthur Rimbaud’s native city in the North-East of France in 1981. Eager to change, I moved to London at 17 in order to pursue my upper education in environmental sciences at the University of East London.
Training
Autodidact painter, I attended several drawing classes at the Instituto Superior de Arte at Havana where I lived for a long period. In constant search of artistic enrichment, I practiced my drawing skills in artistic workshops and studied classic, contemporary and Afrocuban dances for several months.
I also have a five-years experience in drama and played the parts Marion and Angélique de Chiffreville parts in La Nuit de Valognes by Eric Emmanuel Schmidt, at the Steiner Theater, Baker Street, London in May 2003.
Artistic objectives
As a biologist, I have a particular interest in the animal kingdom, physical adaptations and the relationships that have been built through evolutions between the organisms and their environment.
My objectives are both artistic and pedagogical. Indeed, I wish to share my knowledge on these amazing beings and display there incredible diversity of shapes, uses and colors to everyone. My colorful and detailed work is accessible by young as well as older curiosities.
Its elaboration has been deeply influenced by years of traveling through Europe, Latin America and Africa. It focuses on the biodiversity, senses and invites visitors to observe every single detail of these know as well as unrecognizable subjects. My paintings stimulate the observation and imagination of people who are willing to play the game of guessing who all these shapes and organs belong to.
