Cesare Viola is a contemporary artist based in Switzerland. Viola is a surrealist and metamorphist artist who paints and sculpts. He creates sculptures that are figurative-humanistic metamorphisms. A transfiguring but not transcendental artistic trend in which the mutilated subjects tend to express the hidden dynamic energy.

Surrealist sculptures with complex design and structure, influenced in part by great masters such as Dal, Mitoray's fragmentation, Modigliani's elongated faces, the metamorphism of physical and animal nature, but also by the pictorial tradition to which Tanguy, Magritte, and Delvaux belong.

Cesare Viola was born in 1963, in Italy. He lives and works in Switzerland.
