Sergey Bakin is a refined painter and a virtuoso draughtsman. Classical ballet is an old love of the artist. He addresses its innermost side, reflecting not the stage, but the backstage life of ballerinas, exploring the origin and formation of dance; he is often present at ballet rehearsals at the Mariinsky theater. He is a member of the Union of artists of Russia, the creative Union (IFA), and the Saint Petersburg society of Pastelists. Member of the French society of pastelists. The winner of the Art du Pastel en France 2012. Actively exhibited since the mid-80's in cities of Russia and abroad: about 200 group and personal exhibitions. In 1995-1996-participant of the Druo auction (France). Works in oil painting, watercolors, pastels, and ceramics. The author's works are in the collections of the State Museum "Tsarskoye Selo collection" (Pushkin), Museum of fine arts of the Republic of Karelia (Petrozavodsk), Museum of fine arts of Arkhangelsk, the Museum of modern art "Erarta" (St. Petersburg) and in private collections in Russia, USA, France, Sweden, England, Germany and other countries.
