She attended Kandilli Primary School in 1944-1946 and Kandilli Girls' High School in 1946-1953. She graduated from Istanbul Medical Faculty in 1963. [1] She received her Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Specialization from SSK Nişantaşı Hospital between 1964-1968.

She started to work as a Chief Assistant at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dermatology in 1968. He received further education in England with the scholarship of the British Culture Committee in 1971, did short-term studies in France in 1974 and England in 1976, became an associate professor in 1972 and a professor in 1977. She was the Head of the Department of Dermatology at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine between 1982-1987, and the Director of the Leprosy Research and Application Center of Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine between 1981-2001. She took part in the establishment of the "IU Women's Problems Research and Application Center" established in 1990, and worked as the assistant director and coordinator of the Women's Health courses until 1996.
