She started to work as a Chief Assistant at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Dermatology in 1968. He received further education in England with the scholarship of the British Culture Committee in 1971, did short-term studies in France in 1974 and England in 1976, became an associate professor in 1972 and a professor in 1977. She was the Head of the Department of Dermatology at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine between 1982-1987, and the Director of the Leprosy Research and Application Center of Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine between 1981-2001. She took part in the establishment of the "IU Women's Problems Research and Application Center" established in 1990, and worked as the assistant director and coordinator of the Women's Health courses until 1996. She worked as a lecturer at the Dermatology Clinic until the end of 2002 and retired on 13 December 2002 she.
She started her studies on leprosy (leprosy) in 1976, she founded the Anti-Leprosy Association and Foundation. In 1986 he was awarded the "International Gandhi Prize" in India she. She was the consultant of the World Health Organization on leprosy until 2006. She is a founding member and vice president of the International Leprosy Union (ILU). She is a member of the European Academy of Dermato Venerology and the International Leprosy Association. She took part in the establishment of the Dermatopathology Laboratory, Behçet's Disease and Sexually Transmitted Diseases Polyclinics. Between 1981 and 2002, she worked as the Chief Physician of the Ministry of Health Istanbul Leprosy Hospital for 21 years.[2]
He married in 1957 and had two sons from this marriage. He has two grandchildren, one of whom is a graphic designer and the other is a physician. Saylan, who has been suffering from breast cancer for the last 17 years, passed away on May 18, 2009 at 04:45. When she passed away, she was the General President of ÇYDD, the Presidency of TÜRKÇAĞ and KANKEV Foundation, and the Association and Foundation for Fight Against Leprosy as a voluntary organization.
