Jerzy Wielicki born 1928 Warsaw - died 1996 Gdynia/Poland

The creative personality of the artist was born under the watchful eye of many famous Polish painting. The first teachers of young student was Julius Studnicki and Jacek Zulawski having behind a short period of study at the Paris branch of the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. The last year of study Wieliczka already spent in Warsaw, completing it in 1951 with Jan Seweryn Sokolowski, having in turn pre-war experience with a group of "Prism", just like Julius Studnicki, who co-founded "Prism". Pedigree artistic therefore derived from a deep tradition of post-Impressionist paintings based on color search. The artist was also interested in the Russian avant-garde, all this resulted in an individual, very personal look at art. The play is based on a great knowledge resulting from professors genius, talent, lightweight hand, some ethereal form, the free determination of narrative and unusual issues with respect to color. Artist last years of his life were spent in Gdynia. In 1972 he was awarded the Mayor of Szczecin at the Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting, and in 1982 the first prize in the international competition Rowney Company in London. Works makers have been presented at numerous exhibitions, among others in Sweden, Great Britain, France, Finland.
