Jean-Olivier Chafraix est né en 1977 à Cargèse, en Corse du Sud. Doué pour le dessin, il a commencé naturellement l'expression de son art par la peinture. Passionné par les nouvelles technologies, il s’est alors tourné vers l'art numérique. Aujourd’hui, artiste accompli, il allie le numérique et la peinture. Les deux univers sont, à son sens, complémentaires. Il réalise d’une part, des œuvres avec de la peinture acrylique et des aérosols sur toile et, d’autre part, des compositions issues de plusieurs photos vectorisées et retravaillées sur ordinateur. Les tirages sont des exemplaires uniques, imprimés sur aluminium brossé et recouvert de résine époxy. Son art est issu de la culture populaire. Dans ses œuvres se mêlent des personnages de Comics, des rockstars ou des icones du cinéma. Le paysage urbain l’inspire et il se sert de clichés pris lors de ses voyages.
