This is probably my very first ever painting. From the “Hearts” collection made in London 10 years ago. For some reason this year I am having a lot of reminiscing on my earliest days of my art journey and even making a collection to commemorate my very first discovered techniques to use. I think it gave me style back then already because, now as Im getting more and more full circle about it I notice how much I go back to the ways of making art that I first started with. Simple, but genuine. It still amazes me how something I started doing so spontaneously right away started flourishing into something I am proud of to this day and even holds up at least in my view to be worth of making a print reissues. This one I gifted to a pal of mine (and shipped it to new New York City) (hence the title), who granted me first compliments on my art which gave me boost of confidence in it and courage to keep on. I am so grateful for it! Now it’s probably not that crucial but back then it meant a lot and I can’t help but ponder what if I didn’t receive those few compliments then? Would I be assured enough to carry on…
