Dominique ANDRE was born on December 2, 1943 in Paris, he is the heir of a dynasty of art restorers. His great-grandfather, Alfred ANDRE, founded the ANDRE house in 1858, which still exists; he was known for making renaissance style cloisonné enamels and prestigious restorations all over the world.

Dominique ANDRE spent her childhood and youth in the house which houses the workshops and took part in restoration work at a very young age.

In the 1960s Dominique ANDRE began his medicine on rue des Saints Pères, he regularly stopped in front of Denise RENE's gallery, Boulevard Saint Germain, which would have a great influence on his work.

Listening to a conference and the music of Iannis XENAKIS, at the law faculty in the rue d'Assas, he received a kind of revelation and began to build regulated surfaces in the form of structures stretched over supports of altuglass, brass or of stainless steel. He exhibited at the Salon des Médecins and at the Paul Ricard Foundation where he had 2 works stolen. Later he will discover the work of Antoine PEVSNER, his brother Naüm Gabo and more recently Angel Duarte, of whom he is a fervent admirer.

In 1971 this passion for sculpture took up a lot of time. Reasonably, he gave it up to prepare for internship and practiced medicine for 35 years in Paris while continuing to seek new compositions through drawing.
At the same time, he is interested in dreams and will give several conferences on this subject.

For 4 years he retired to Bordeaux and reworked on the constructivist theme of the hyperbolic paraboloid which can be written in conceptual form (x/a)2-(y/b)2-z=0, but his research focuses on bringing together mathematical elements and abstract art.

Emptiness finds its place there and prevails over matter.

Each work is a walk through space and time knowing that the curves are generated by the homologous displacement of a generator on 2 non-coplanar matrices.
