Nature is waking up and you can feel the buzz, the energy of anticipation for something magical.
Upon first glance, the pale olive green background and the windchime/dream catcher is the most obvious, but on closer look one can see many dragonflies all around the image.
Dragonflies symbolize mental and emotional change, transformation, self-realization, and adaptability.
The canvas is heavily textured. I achieved this mostly with moulding paste+gel medium, but also leaves, coffee granules, a bit of earth and some dried moss.
Then I outlined the dragonflies with texture paste using a henna cone. It is a reminiscence of fairy dwellings, elusive but full of light and imagination. The dream catcher/wind chime is to symbolise and attract the awakening nature and its abundance. Each dragonfly is unique.
The pale olive green, pink and turquoise are the colours of the heart chakra. I have used amethyst, citrine, rose quartz, turquoise, peridot as crystals. The wind chime has a lot of iridescent colours and there is glitter and sequins hidden all over the canvas that catches the eye under different light.

As an artist with a background in colour therapy, chakra healing, and aura healing, I approach my work with the intention of promoting positive emotions and enhancing the energy of spaces. Prior to starting my creative process, I engage in practices that promote a positive and centred state of mind, such as smudging and meditation. I work slowly and deliberately, allowing my connection with the paint and mediums to inform the texture and mood of my pieces. My work is elevated through the incorporation of sacred symbols and natural elements, which serve to further enhance its therapeutic qualities. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them.
