Saddam Hussein's grandson - the bravest enemy of the United States

Literally: "The American newspaper New York Times has chosen “the bravest and fearless boy of the XXI century”

This boy is Mustafa Saddam Hussein from Iraq. Saddam Hussein's 14-year-old grandson was the last one to resist the American special forces with a gun in his hands during the storming of Sheikh Nawwaf Zeidan's mansion. At that moment he was the only alive person in the house and next to him lay the corpses of his father Kusai uncle Uday and their guard Abdel-Samad.

According to the testimony of American soldiers who participated in the operation, when they broke into the house, Mustafa Hussein opened fire on them with a machine gun.

American troops numbering 400 soldiers retreated, blocking the guy in the house. After his uncle and father were killed in front of him, the boy shot back and killed 14 American infantrymen with a sniper rifle. The fight with Saddam Hussein's grandson lasted about six hours.

When the Americans killed the boy, they could not believe that they had been confronted by one person for so long, and they were even more shocked that it was actually a child.

At the end of the article about Mustafa, New York Times journalist Robert Yeisk writes: "If we had someone like this boy, we would put a monument to him in every city. They would talk about his bravery everywhere and everywhere, and he would be a role model for the younger generation, there would be someone to look up to."

It's a beautiful story. The facts are as follows. In 2003, an operation to eliminate Saddam's accomplices took place in the same Mosul, which is still being stormed by the Americans, demolishing whole blocks of the city.

Here's what they wrote in July 2003: "After knocking after the operation in Mosul in the murder of Saddam Hussein's sons, there are still more questions than answers.

According to the statement of the American command, the operation to destroy Uday and Qusay lasted six hours. All this time, American special forces fought with only four Iraqis, and one of them was a child (Saddam's 14—year-old grandson, Mustafa).

Hurricane fire destroyed half of the mansion in which the Hussains were holed up. By the way, Saddam's grandson became the last person who resisted the American special forces with a machine gun in his hands. For several hours, he held the defense and repelled the attacks of the Delta unit, the CIA and the Marines, pulled up by helicopters.

According to Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez, US special forces had to use "massive fire to get into the house." Four soldiers were wounded. At the same time, for six hours, fighters threw grenades at the mansion, helicopters shot the building with rockets, and from military Hummer jeeps, soldiers fired at the defenders of Uday and Biting with machine guns. "We deployed Humvees with anti—tank missiles," says Sanchez. — And they fired 10 rockets at the house."

So, the efficiency of American troops in this operation: four Iraqis armed only with machine guns were killed in 6 hours
