Drawing: Charcoal on paper
At the end of the day, I like to take a white drawing paper and improvise : this nude figure comes from such an "end of the day" free, loose lines.
I chose the best ones, and made them bigger.
Black and white is prefect by nature, doesn't distract with colors, just the line, only the line. Straight from the hand, from the imagination, very little in between.

4 deckle edges, highest paper quality, 300 g, 100 % cotton

I live and work in Bordeaux, France. I like to invent large watercolor and India ink paintings on paper, urban scenes, but also abstract compositions for the pleasure of color and line: a sentence, a quote or a text that seemed to me remarkable is the starting point of these paintings.

My works are regularly exhibited in France, also in the United States, recently at the

Stanford in Washington Art Gallery, in Washington, DC.

A recent project led me to realize on behalf of a large company what was to be an order for 15 paintings and ended a few months later with a final production of 90 paintings.

Artist Arnaud Faugas lives and works in Bordeaux, France. His lively illustrations of situations and characters are always imagined with wit and humor.

Working with watercolor and India ink on paper exclusively, he creates vibrant and exciting large-format urban views, reflecting the joy and energy of city life.

His abstract paintings are defined as the pure joy of colors on smooth watercolor paper, flowing freely, along with the sharpness and graceful elegance of pen drawing. The inspiration at the origin of the work might be a phrase in French or in English, giving it its title.

Arnaud Faugas exhibits regularly in his hometown, in Paris, and also in the USA - most recently at the Stanford in Washington Art Gallery, in Washington, DC. His most recent project was a series of 90 paintings of the most prestigious winemaking chateaux in the Bordeaux area, which is now housed at the headquarters of a well known Bordeaux wine merchant.
