Born in Paris in 1978, Arnaud Gautron is a visual artist. After initial training at a Grande Ecole, since 2001 he has simultaneously developed a practice of creating commissioned images and his own plastic research.

He considers painting, drawing, photography and moving images as means of his artistic expression. He has produced several group and personal exhibitions, notably Incarno (Galerie Oberkampf, Paris, 2010), En attendant l’hiver (Utopicerie, Paris, 2006) and Lignes d’horizons (Arc et Senans, 2009). It was published by Eyrolles in Cahiers du Designer — Peinture naturel, in 2002.

He is passionate about the relationship between image and sound. He regularly collaborates with musicians: painting performances on stage with the pop artist Raldub in 2005, experimental video films with the Nuz collective or the electronic and electroacoustic composer Rui Emmanuel Candeias since 2006…

He In 2010, he added theater to his field of experimentation, with a residency at the CDN in Thionville-Lorraine, for the creation of a video set for La Tache de Mariotte, directed by Eric Petitjean.

He created Sonoptis with Sébastien Chatron, composer and acousmatic performer. He designs and manufactures the spherapulse, an aluminum sculpture at the heart of a complex video projection device. Their show, Le Dialogue de la Sphérapulse et de l'Acousmonium, was presented on the occasion of the 9th Nuit Bleue, in July 2010.

During the summer of 2011, he accompanied the poet for 6 weeks and sonographer Pascal Rueff, for an artistic residency observing the contaminated territories around Chernobyl, Ukraine.

After 34 years spent in Paris, he now lives and works in Brittany, in the Côtes d'Armor where he found an environment favorable to the development of the expressionist visions of his imagination. His artistic reflection is based on the study of the relationships between individuals and space-time, in a process of permanent research and assembly of his different practices.
