Dire Straits one of my favorite rock bands. I wanted dedicate a paint to them and to one of the best guitarist of ever Mark Knopfler. I did not do any preliminary drawings. I painted the background color and I created the shape of Mark and the guitar with this color still wet. I selected an image of Mark in Internet.That one where he plays with the cool guitar and wearing the typical headband. I wanted to emphasize his thumb, which is his unmistakable way of playing. Around Mark I painted the 11 successful songs of Dire Straits: Starting from the top left:
1.Suntans of swing (painting of a sultan) 2. Expresso love (coffee cup with two hearts) 3. Telegraph road (road with poles of the electric line) 4. Brothers in arms (two soldiers: one wounded and hit friend helps him) 5. Lady writer (woman with the notebook) 6. Tunnel of love (yellow tunnel with the heart, on the top right) 7. Private investigation (magnifying lens) 8. Romeo & Juliet (Juliet on the balcony with the typical braid and Romeo below) 9. Water of love (waterfall with hearts) 10. Money for nothing (Bag of coins and flying banknotes) 11. walk of life (footprints on the road) in the bottom of the paiting.
The actual painted area is 40x50: (There is a white border of 10cm);

Tricomi Antonino was born in Catania on 03/01/1979.
From an early age shows his artistic skills.
He attends the scientific high school where he learns the art of "light and shadows" technique and the rules of perspective from the geometric point of view, of lines and of colors (Leonardo da Vinci and Brunelleschi concepts).
He graduated in Electronic Engineering in Catania and a Master in Microelectronics in Austria.
He is a self-taught artist who has created his style through the direct practice of pictorial art.
