Anne Spicas, painter, draftsman and photographer, who comes from the cinematographic artistic milieu. From the age of eight, she was sensitized to the image and to black and white by the silent films of Laurel and Hardy, Chaplin and Buster Keaton. At ten, she was already accompanying her father on film sets. She started black and white photography in 1984 and stayed with film perhaps because of her career as a film editor where she was already handling film.
Anne Spicas is an autodidact, who began by making portraits of children. She works her shots with two cameras, Minolta SRT101b and Nikon FM3. For her, photography is an artistic process, and poetic writing feeds creation. The theme comes by itself during the practice.
The artistic creation that she implements follows an energetic path. "Water and fire, wood and metal, earth. Energy circulates. The image is inscribed between birth and death, appearance – disappearance. A breath. Appearance. Framing already, reframing so little. Being to the heart with the heart. To listen. The line dialogues with the curve. Incessant, unfinished creation, in infinity. Renewing your skin at every moment. Feeling the emptiness full as a creative passage to the act. Finding the words, the gestures, images, the means to communicate with strength and sensitivity using plastic and being a visual passer."
Anne Spicas lives in Fontenay-près-Vézelay in France. His works are marked by a unique and original style, which combines different techniques and approaches to create visually captivating compositions.
Constantly evolving, Anne Spicas continues to explore new artistic horizons, creating fascinating and inspiring works of art that reflect her passion for art and creation.
