"In guerra" is a creation made on a 100 x 50 frame and its story began in 2017 as part of the Carrare Trophy. On that date, the Bô Diables de Saint Savinien sur Charente association asked me to participate in the revisiting of the very famous Bayeux tapestry dating from the 11th century. A monumental needlepoint embroidery measuring 70 meters long and 50 centimeters high. A challenge in which I took part with apprehension but great pleasure. Thus, like the 53 artists who worked on a meter or more, I made my contribution with my interpretation, style and technique, integrating for the occasion a few words of Corsican language as well as newspaper clippings. Between gilding and a host of repeated details, "In guerra" is my revisiting of the work registered since 2007 in the Memory of the World Register by Unesco and relating the end of the reign of the King of England. Also, after the first version dating from 2017 where some technical requirements were required, the canvas was completely modified and never exhibited again. The work was completed in 2019 and new changes were made in 2020. The greatest care will be taken when packing the canvas (bubble wrap, heavy cardboard). For France, delivery will be entrusted to La Poste by colissimo with insurance and tracking. For Europe and abroad, I will use a carrier, always with insurance and follow-up. Secure transactions. Any reproduction is prohibited. Unique creation Made in Corsica.
