Portuguese artist, was born in 1959 in Mopeia, Mozambique. She now lives between Porto and Nantes.
Artistic approach:
As far as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by movement, musical rhythm and the freedom it provides, probably because I was frequently bedridden in my childhood. I am seduced by abstraction which gives the artist the freedom to trust his intuition and feel particularly close to abstract expressionism. Very early on, thanks to the works of Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, I realized that asymmetry, curves and obliques could suggest dynamism, life. From a limited palette of pigments in vibrant colors and current mixed techniques, I try to create a symbiosis between colors and texture to evoke the passage from one world to another and challenge the viewer.
