Painting as if dreamed, fragments of images and spectacular spells, material and realistic landscapes. A myriad of moods dictated by the artist's fervent imagination alternate on the canvas. Colors and lights, essential to arouse interest, magnification, serenity. Alexander Luigi Di Meglio delves into himself and produces a series of external works, which arise from reality and imagination. Between brush and pencil he expresses his innovative way of perceiving art, creating semi-abstract works with color on color, paint on top of paint, interlocking warp materials; an abstract expressionism. His work can be traced back to the German painters of the middle of the last century, such as the pictorial drafting in planes, the identification of geometric elements in nature or the attention to the volumes of objects and their way of interacting.
I have followed Alexander Luigi Di Meglio's painting for many years, continuing through the thoughtful observation of his paintings one always notices an intense, particularly expressive formative experience. I believe that the inexhaustible research, never completely satisfied, is the most relevant trait of Di Meglio's painting, however the element that takes on greater importance is his ability to involve the observer, to start a dialogue with him, a path in which the colors become expression, and a new and different world is born from his paintings, a world that does not know the mediocrity of everyday life and the petty squalor of conditioning, a world that confuses due to the emotional intensity it generates and, getting lost can mean reliving , renewing oneself in the miracle that only art can create.
