Canyon de Chelly is situated in the heart of Navajoland, in Arizona. The Canyon is still inhabited by Navajos, growing corn and peaches.

Tsegi overlook is the most scenic viewpoint on the Canyon. At sunset, with the sun setting behind us, the rich colors of the canyon are striking with saturated orange and red, contrasting with the green leaves of the peach trees in May. Right at the edge of sunset, the canyon and the surrounding rims are in the shade, and the setting sun lights the clouds, leaving traces of red and yellow in the sky. The warm colors of the clouds reflects back in the canyon, providing glimpses of warm tones inside the canyon.

Born in Lebanon, a beautiful country that was torn by a 17-year war, I spent my entire childhood and adolescence learning how to survive. I discovered photography at a younger age, and by the age of 10, I was already the main photographer at a local wedding... actually, my cousin's wedding!

In 1990, I left Lebanon for Cyprus, a small island in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. When the world around me was readying for Desert Storm, the first Gulf war, I was joyfully discovering the beautiful single mountain in Cyprus, its beaches, its cliffs and its historical landmarks.

I moved to Paris in 1991, to earn an engineering degree in computer science and image processing, at l'Ecole Nationale Superieur des Telecommunications, one of France’s most prestigious engineering programs. I started touring France that year, taking thousands of photos from different locations. In 1992, Europe opened up its borders, and my trips started getting wider, to parts of Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and the UK.

After graduation, I joined General Electric, in their medical division in Versailles, 20 miles southwest of Paris. As a software engineer developing medical imaging products, I was able to satisfy my need for visual creativity, and combine that need with a mission of creating products that saved lives around the world.

I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2000, where I discovered the unique beauty of the American West. Upon moving to Colorado in 2002, my exploration of the area has intensified. No matter what type of voyage I am embarking on, my photography gear is always at arm's reach.
