Alain Boulivet is an artist photographer. He uses drawing, photography and embroidery as well as quite often, food invites itself into his creations…! He also makes videos and installations. He says he is very touched by the work of William Kentridge, and also sensitive to the narrative method of the Bayeux tapestry.

The taste for wonder and the mystery of beliefs is at the heart of my work. Deeply inspired by Buddhist wisdom, he proposes through his digital collages to bring out what amazes, what elevates the soul and more generally what invites the spiritual. How in the 21st century can an image suggest the Sacred? This is the question that drives him today.

To answer it, and without favoring any religious current, he evokes historical facts, parables, legends. It also happens to represent beliefs of which history has not kept traces but which necessarily accompanied ancient civilizations.

Alain Boulivet lives and works in France. He has participated in numerous exhibitions including the Salon d'Automne in Paris (France) in 2021. His work is present in many private collections.
