Akpet Nyambi is a contemporary Nigerian visual artist known for his focus on spontaneous realism, life forms, and art storytelling. His collaborative efforts with fellow Nigerian artists have led to the hosting of exhibitions and shows that promote art within the vibrant Lagos art scene.
Despite his early interest in fine art, Nyambi pursued a degree in Sociology from the University of Calabar in Nigeria, influenced by his parents' lack of encouragement. However, determined to pursue his passion for art, he later enrolled in an online art course to further develop his skills and artistic interests.
Nyambi's commitment to social causes is evident in his collaborations with artists at the Wattcentral art gallery in Calabar, where they hosted an art show to support displaced children in Bakasi. Additionally, he joined forces with a group of artists known as the "Calabar Artist" to organize an exhibition titled "REDEMPTION." His participation in the December 2020 Sylvascreen Exhibition in Lekki, Lagos, further showcased his artistic talent and contribution to the local art scene. Nyambi's artistic journey also extends beyond Nigeria, as evidenced by his participation in the Banditto Residency exhibition contest 2020 in Tuscany, Italy.
