« L’Appel à la pluie » : cette acrylique sur toile (60 x 80 cm) réalisée en 2023 par l’artiste peintre marocaine Aïcha Ahayoun-Tazmi représente dans un style à la fois naïf et surréaliste deux arbres aux branches, comme des bras, levées vers le ciel, le tronc fendu comme une bouche pour implorer le ciel de leur envoyer la pluie. La bouche ouverte de chaque tronc d’arbre peut être interprétée comme un cri de joie, car le ciel prodigue enfin la pluie tant attendue. Travaillé dans une large gamme chromatique, le ciel est parsemé de points mauves, qui illustrent les années écoulées depuis la dernière pluie, durant une longue période marquée par la sécheresse et la négligence humaine. Les points blancs, au contraire, figurent la pluie qui tombe enfin, soulageant la nature. Les deux troncs d’arbres, et même les deux souches coupées au ras du sol au premier plan, ne tardent pas à se couvrir de pousses et de feuilles jaunes et vertes. Les arbres semblent presque personnifiés, jouant le rôle d’intercesseurs entre la terre et le ciel. Leur enracinement profond, leur ténacité, leur persévérance, leur résilience face à l’adversité et face à la négligence des humains témoignent tout à la fois de la fragilité et de la force de la nature.

Worked in a wide chromatic range, the sky is dotted with purple dots, illustrating the years that have passed since the last rain, during a long period marked by drought and human neglect. The white dots, on the other hand, symbolize the rain finally falling, bringing relief to nature. The two tree trunks, and even the two stumps cut low to the ground in the foreground, are soon covered with yellow and green shoots and leaves. The trees seem almost personified, acting as intercessors between earth and sky. Their deep roots, tenacity, perseverance and resilience in the face of adversity and human neglect testify to both the fragility and strength of nature.
