Jason Jenkins paints in the solitude of his back yard and displays the creations in his home.
The Highland artist welcomes anyone who wants to see his artwork in his home studio that he calls Abstract 10 Studios.

"I let people to come and see the work and see what my style is," he said. "The majority of my artwork is in my studio for collectors to see it's all my work it's all me 65 pieces throughout the entire house."

The studio name is a tribute to his favorite style of art.

"I love abstract art work and that's what I started doing," he said.

But he also appreciates other styles.

"There is no limit to how deep you can go with surrealism you can just take the viewer deeper and deeper," he said.

The self-taught artist said he began painting when he wanted to get more paintings for his house, but could no longer afford originals. That's when he said he did the next best thing he began painting his own pictures for his house. In the four years since, he says he's painted more than 250 pieces.

"Everything ranges from abstract expressionism to abstract surrealism," he said.



"I usually focus on anything that's abstract because I want to bring shock value to the viewer, a lot of images pertain to music but in an abstract format."

Jenkins says he sells the work mostly to private collectors when the work is displayed in galleries.

Next month he will be part of shows at the Latino Museum of Art in Pomona and the Art Hub in Orange. One piece is part of the Southwest Show at Redlands Art Association.

It's there he says he hopes people will see his art as they do in his home studio, where he leads tours every Saturday.

"I want to recreate an image in their minds," he said. "I want them to say if this piece was in my environment that it would re-create the room."

My art reflects the grit of the urban street scene in subject matter, materials and live performances. Most of my work is on recycled materials such as wood supports or drywall. I paint outside of the lines by design. Some brush strokes appear unfinished by design. The edges of my paintings are rough, rugged and raw by design. My work is NOT designed to be framed! It should remain in as close to its original environment as possible. Many of the holes, nails and original markings remain. They are sacred to the work. Produced in my Abstract 10 studio in Southern California, I have created artwork with styles reflecting Abstract Surrealism, Abstract Minimalism, and Abstract Expressionism.
Abstract 10 Originals. was founded in 2000 by abstract painter Jason Jenkins. Jenkins has developed a model that is designed to succeed by offering high quality original paintings in a variety of distribution outlets. "my model is to service every distribution channel that relates to abstract art", states Jenkins. I specialize in art that stays ahead of the competition by taking more chances during creation and going against the grain. My research and development dollars are directed towards bringing the consumer the next generation in large scale paintings."
