Rider (2018) Sculpture by Ayanade

Rider is the meeting point and collaboration between the traditional Yoruba culture and the modern Yoruba culture the bicycle being one of the oldest technology brought to the country Nigeria is been ride by a traditional Lover wearing kembe (a traditional elite dress) carrying is beautiful wife modern lady wearing trouser ( a western introduction to female dressing),the lady is also on Suku (traditional hair-do).There is a display of both engine scrab and metal plate fabrication to also emphasized the bond between the two Time frame. Rider is also a display of love between the two cultures as it is clearly shown in the work.
Finally the long pole joining the base and the work show how long the collaboration had been.
