Once upon a time, when there was nothing on earth but the sun and the moon, and there was only white Day and its sister dark Night, the almighty gods came down to earth and saw

the infinite joy radiating from his brother and the boundless, deepest sadness radiating from his inconsolable sister. The day-bright and sunny - was a favorite of flowers and moths, and the Night-dark and cold-endlessly wandered alone.

And the gods decided to help the poor sister – they released thousands of animals, insects, and beautiful plants to the earth. But they also immediately clung to the chest of the bright and sunny brother, and the dark Night was left alone again. Then the creators decorated the dark night sky with millions of stars, and the earth with thousands of twinkling fireflies. But they could not shine a bright light on the beauty and make the animals love her.

And so the gods created people, but they were also afraid of the darkness of the beautiful Night and tried not to show themselves to her eyes. The sad beauty of the Night pleaded:

"Gods, have mercy! How tired I am of loneliness and endless sadness! How I want to give the world happiness and peace of mind!

And then the gods decided to create a flower on earth that would become a symbol of the Night, and that would give people sweet dreams and give them the opportunity to dream about their innermost dreams – it was a Poppy.

From now on, people began to come to the Night, which, opening Poppies and giving people their delicate fragrance, could temporarily send them to the realm of dreams, where their most cherished dreams were fulfilled.
