The main thing in abstract art is the manifestation of emotional intelligence. Decorative oil painting is made in multi-layers, using the technology of applying varnish miniatures; these works are made on wood. In her pursuit of artistic excellence, Elena Tikhonova received special training in decorative painting, which gave her the basic fundamentals of her craft. The school of lacquer miniature painting became a key moment in her art education, instilling not only discipline, but also technical experience that would prove invaluable in her artistic endeavors.
However, over time, the limitations of these techniques began to constrain her, stifling her creative impulses and limiting her artistic endeavors. style. The desire to free herself from these restrictions led to a profound transformation in her approach to painting on wood and in abstract art. In 2020, Elena Tikhonova made a radical shift, partially abandoning oil paints and brushes in favor of acrylic and the liberating realm of abstract expressionism.
Her work was greatly influenced by great artists such as Matisse, Cezanne, Picasso. He takes an active part in collaborations with people who do not have a professional art education; as a result of such experiments, the paintings turn out to be colorful, bold and often provocative works of art. The works were done in oil, acrylic and mixed media.
Elena Tikhonova works and lives in Russia,
is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, teaches academic drawing and painting at the Russian State College of Arts and Industry at the University named after S. G. Stroganov. Some of her personal projects participated in collective exhibitions in Russia. In 2006 she was awarded the Badge of Distinction from the Golden Press Fund.
