Разнобой довольно большой и я в некотором тупике... В целом, не нравится, но разобрать по косточкам эту романтическую эклектику мне не удается. Театр в живописи? И ясно, что определенные способности у него, конечно, были, но служили они лишь целям некоего соблазнения и обаяния... Может быть, в свое время такой романтизм играл положительную роль? Да и сейчас он может (если постараться!) вызвать чувство некоторой ностальгии по утерянным идиллиям...
П.С.: какое время, такие и художники получают известность… В первой половине жизни его даже коммерсантом назвать было нельзя – только во второй он стал нажимать на яркость и шик… - причем, удачно, у него получались очень эффектные для его времени картины (оказывается, все равно умер в бедности!) И ведь никак не скажешь, что он копия кого-то - скорее, ему подражали… Но он мне все равно ни разу не близок, само словосочетание «романтический пейзаж» кажется мне верхом нелепости и неправдоподобия… (романтика всегда связана с бабами – а современные бабы – как и любые - ни разу не связаны с прекрасными пейзажами?! При том, что прекрасен любой пейзаж… Они всегда предпочтут гнездо, вот где для них вся романтика-практика…)

The discrepancy is quite large and I’m at a bit of a dead end... Overall, I don’t like it, but I can’t pick apart this romantic eclecticism piece by piece. Theater in painting? And it is clear that he, of course, had certain abilities, but they served only the purposes of some kind of seduction and charm... Maybe at one time such romanticism played a positive role? And even now it can (if you try!) evoke a feeling of some nostalgia for lost idylls...
P.S.: what a time, such artists and get famous... In the first half of his life you couldn’t even call him a businessman - only in the second half did he begin to emphasize brightness and chic... - and successfully, he produced paintings that were very impressive for his time (it turns out that he died in poverty anyway!) And you can’t say that he is a copy of someone - rather, they imitated him... But he’s still never close to me, the very phrase “romantic landscape” seems to me the height of absurdity and implausibility ... (romance is always associated with women - and modern women - like any other - are never associated with beautiful landscapes?! Despite the fact that any landscape is beautiful... They will always prefer a nest, that’s where all the romance-practice is for them...)
