Bruno GARERO story

Bruno GARERO (pseudonym)
Bruno GAYRAUD is born in Bourg en Bresse in France in 1959, he was brought up surrounded by flowers and plants. Each member of the family was either a florist or horticulturist.
His father is a famous landscape gardener who has designed some of the most beautiful gardens in France including the Termes d’Eugenie les Bains as well as ten of the biggest Chateaux in the Bordeaux region.

Bruno follows a way of life rich in its variety – passionate about nature, art, cuisine and sport, he enters in the frencn Military School of Cavalerie Army ans served as an officer in Berlin during the Cold War at the end of the seventies.
Fast jobs as life-guard and gardner before to join the Club Med, helding various posts all round the world during 11 years, finishing as a “chef du village”.

During this time he became fluent in 6 languages. Whilst in South America he discovered the cultures there which inspired him artistically, particularly pre-Columbus especially Mayan art.
On his return to France he ran a hotel in Mandelieu near Cannes where he started to sculpt in wood, particularly using Mimosa, light Oak and Olive.

He first exhibited his work at the “Premier Salon des Arts Mediterrannée” where he met Paola Picasso, the daughter of the famous painter, who inspired him even more in his creative spirit and power.

He carries on its profesional work as a director of Planet Fitness/Les Mills, the leading fitness firm in France and discovered the Maori culture thanks to several trips to the head office, based in New Zealand. He started to sculpt statuettes from Oceana, pre Columbus and Africa.
His passion for the sea drew him to notice driftwood and he diversified into high quality table lamps and standard lamps, artistic works uniquely “Made in France”.
He is advised and assisted by his Belgian wife, Veronique with whom he has 3 daughters.
