This series is a collection of 10 Still life paintings inspired by Toril.A French country home decor and Still life photography. With the inspiration I got from her Still life home photos I want to turn it into a impressionism and realistic Art creation with watercolors and Acrylics using a pastel and warm color palette. This Series is a French country theme art collection. I think I might paint some of them to have a vintage look and some will have a bit of abstract color creativity depending on how the process leads me.
Most of the paintings will include a painting process video from my Art studio desk.

Behind The Scene of the first Painting from my New Art series: The Mountain Resort.
Taking you on a journey through a mesmerizing watercolor painting of a realistic roses in a vase Still life that was captured in photography on a Mountain Resort in Japan. I will be turning such a beautiful still life inspiration into a watercolor Art piece with relaxing music.
In this watercolor painting I used the realism watercolor style and mostly wet on dry watercolor techniques. The watercolor flowers were painted with the realistic style and the landscape was done in a loose impressionism style.

Art Diary- BACK TO ART!
I'm back to the Art Studio after taking a long break from painting. I needed to rediscover myself again and do some exploring from traveling to reading and learning the Piano. But, I will always come back to Art. I just can't do without it.
Sometimes, I wonder if my Art resonate with people. If my Art is right for the world. I still deal with Anxiety and fear of being unseen. But, my Still life paintings in ways I can't explain gives me hope. The scenery in my still life paintings looks like hope and joy to me. And I hope this feelings is mutual to those who sees my Art.
The 9th Painting of Gold Coast, Queensland series.
I have added another painting to the lastest s series I've been working on. It was very therapeutic to paint and it looks vibrant and green. The painting is an impressionism Still life mixed with realism. It's a 13×16 inches.
I made a painting process demonstration video. It's a great video to watch the painting process of how the Art is created.

Art Diary - Twenty Three
Work in progress
New painting work in progress.
I finally got the confidence to paint flowers in nature and complicated garden landscape scenery. I'm only used to painting them in gouache or acrylics. But with watercolors it's tricky and time consuming. Just one mistake and all the painting will be ruined. But, I start to wonder; how does flowers in nature and garden landscape looks like in watercolors. How will I interpret them in my own way through watercolors. That's is if I have the patience and confidence to do it.
So, I have started today taking the first step of this challenge. I mastered Still life with watercolors. I can do this too.
This painting is just a small edge of what I'm creating right now. It looks good. Patience is the key.

Art Diary - Twenty Two
Finished painting from the studio.
Look at the garden scenery doesn't it look dreamy. The painting is exactly as I visioned it. The Watercolor impressionism style makes the garden artistically beautiful. This time I took my time to paint the flowers in the vase. It took me one hour just to make that few bunch. I decided to go for a realism style so it can stand out from the impressionism garden landscape. And it was the best decision in painting.
Another side of the painting
The Steel goblets and jar on the table was something I wasn't looking forward to painting. I wasn't sure if I will do a good job painting them. I don't think I remember painting a Steel metal object before. But , I accepted the challenge and took my chances in hope that I will not ruin it and destroy all the painting together because watercolor is very tricky. Once a mistake everything will be a mistake. Instead of being afraid of potential failure I decided to paint the Metal objects anyhow I wanted. I'm making Art after all. Art is freedom. And my free expression of how I painted my Metal objects worked just fine.
If you notice, there is a plate of sandwiches in the painting. So, I made a sandwich for myself after the painting was completed. My sandwiches may look a bit ugly. I never said I could cook. I only know how to paint. At least it was an ok sandwiches. I made tuna sandwiches with some eggs and lots of vegetables. It 's a healthy meal for a painter like me.
I took this shot from my studio towards the evening. This is the full 18×20 inches painting on the wall. The 8th painting from the Gold Coast, Queensland series.

This is is a beautiful Still life and Garden landscape scenery. In this photo I painted the garden landscape with watercolors using the impressionism style to make it have a Monet artistic look.

Painting in progress
Woke up very in the morning to resume the painting of the blue floral tea pot. Which took me almost thirty minutes to finish. That was a lot of Ultramarine blue just for a teapot. I blue watercolor is giving a signal it's about to finish soon.
Flower bouquet painting complete
The flowers in the glass vase took me thirty minutes to finish. I thought I would go for a realism style for the flowers but for some unknown reason I lot interest and stick to my old impressionism style instead. I was also careful not to overwork on the flowers. I think it's perfectly fine and fits the watercolor garden scenery well.
The whole painting is done. Just left for the signature and The 7th painting in the Gold Coast, Queensland series is complete.

Glass flower vase and flowers in painting in progress.
The work in progress continues. The glass vase looks beautiful, I really love it. I painted the color value and first layers of the flowers in the vase as a color map to know what to do next as I progress. But, I will leave it unfinished for now.
Some garden scenery painting in progress
I have progress to the upper side of the painting where there is a garden bush behind the fence. I wanted to use some water soluble acrylics to paint that part but it didn't fit my vision so I stick back to watercolors using the impressionism method with brush strokes movement.

The garden foreground painting in progress
This was the easiest path to work on. I'm about to finish this painting. Today was a great. This is an accomplish. I learned new watercolor ideas. I can paint a little faster than before and I have a lot of fun.
This is the full view of the painting for now. It's left with the tea pot and the flowers bouquet in the vase which I will paint first thing in the morning tomorrow.
The Seventh Painting in the Gold Coast, Queensland series is almost done.

Work in progress
In the Studio right now working on the seventh painting in the Gold Coast, Queensland series. My progress is super fast. This is a 16×24 inches painting with lots of detailed work. But I progressing so fast. I've been painting large size watercolor paintings for two weeks now and I can see the power of being consistent. My painting speed as improved along with my watercolor painting skills and creative energy.
Table setting painting in progress
I love the look of the dessert with the golden fork. This table setting is a very detailed work and I had to practice patience even though I have none. But, it pays off. Because the table cloth and the St life objects are looking good. The teapot will be the last thing I paint because it has a very intricate floral design. So, I have to think about how to paint it in my own creative way.
Flower vase painting in progress
I will be working on the flowers in the glass vase after a one hour break. The flowers are colorful and I can't wait to paint them. I haven't decided if I want to do a realistic style or impressionism style for the flowers or maybe I should do both to see how it will turn out. The flowers in the vase may come out looking unique.
I think I may finish the whole painting today. Which will be a big surprise and the first time I finished a painting this size on the same day.
I'm curious!

Art Diary - Sixteen
The Sixth painting is done. There's a lot of garden scenery in this painting. I would say this painting is a mix of realism and impressionism of Still life and landscape. The yellow roses in the vase is 100% impressionism. I did not do any detailed work at all. Just expression of colors and brush strokes movement. The painting looks perfect in it's watercolor glory.

Art Diary - Fifteen
The work in progress of the sixth painting in the Gold you, Queensland series and one of my biggest painting so far 20×24 inches. This will take me two days to complete.
I will be using my three most important paint brush for this painting. They are light and easy to hold. They work so well with any paint medium. I have seven various size of these brushes. But these are my favorite. I use them for every painting. For me less is more when it comes to paint brushes.
I can't say the same for watercolors though. More is better in that regard. The more colors I have the better I get to work with even though I still mix my colors. I know I'm a color freak because I can't live a fulfilled life without lots of colors in my Art studio. I'm saving some money to get a 168 watercolor paint set and a 72 watercolor paint set very soon.

The Fifth painting is completed and looks great. I love the flowers in the glass vase. The roses came out looking beautiful and colorful and realistic even though I painted it without much details. I was just feeling the shapes with my brush and adding tonal value.
I'm happy I had the patient for the design on the teapot. It's was a painting on the teapot. I thought it will be difficult. But surprisedly it was the most interesting subject matter to paint in the whole artwork. This is one of my biggest painting yet. It looks simple and classic.

Art Diary - Thirteen (Fun Facts)
This Dish is called The Nigerian Fried Rice. It has been my favorite food since childhood. It signifys wealth and celebration. It's a must do dish for parties and celebration. If you eat This Fried Rice on a normal day for lunch or dinner it means you are rich. Because, Nigerian Fried Rice expensive to make for an average Nigerian. This Dish is a must have for any restaurants in Nigeria or else they won't be getting any customers. It's a Dream Dish and Happy meal to many including me. If you serve this dish at your party in Nigeria everybody will ask for a second serving and an extra to take home. But you need to befriend the Food Gatekeeper at the party for that. 😊
Now, that you understand the importance of this yummy dish. I'm saving some money to make this dish to celebrate the first half of my Gold Coast, Queensland series. I think it's worth the celebration of hardwork and accomplishment. I've had my ups and downs while creating the collection. But, it all part of Growth, Progress and Success. So, my Dream Fried Rice and Chicken is a celebratory food to keep me strong and motivated to keep on going.
I'm excited! 😀
