About Vlasta Beketic Dugonjic                                                        

My work is mostly related to still life motif, focused on  figurative composition and color inherited from tradition of masters of colorful painting. I find inspiration in so called “ordinary objects” as well as small sentimental memorabilia that surround me. By combining these two, I capture them in time telling a story to the viewer.   Using technique of layered oil paint on canvas, there are visible brush movements that gradually build picture composition by adding objects and rhythm. Playing with line and color, and by combining personal inner experience, I create a world in which dream becomes a part of real life. I am a member of Croatian Association of Fine Artists and Likum.

Education:                                                                            

After School of Applied Art and Graphic Design in Zagreb, I have continued education at Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, interdisciplinary study at Painting Department and History of Art at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences University of Zagreb, completing Master's degree.
