Vladimir Shahinyan was born in a seashore city Batumi, Georgian SSR on 13 February, 1950.
Since the very first day he made his first sketch at the Art School he became well known in the city as new Martiros Saryan, the founder of the Armenian national school of painting. Art thereafter had accompanied Vladimir Shahinyan throughout his life.

At the age of seventeen in 1967 Vladimir moved to the capital of Armenian SSR, Yerevan to study architecture. He was once of the brilliant students and at the second year of education was chosen to work at the studio of the Head Architect of the city, famous, prominent and distinguished architect of Soviet Armenia, author of several architectural monuments in the city of Yerevan, Jim Torossian. Mr. Torossian is the author of the Cascade complex in the heart of Yerevan. Vladimir was one of the very appreciated by the Maestro which positively impacted his further career as an architect. At 1980 Vladimir Shahinyan was invited to join the Union of Architects of Armenian SSR and holds his membership till present. As an architect he has exhibited his projects as in all-soviet exhibitions:

1980 - Armenian Union of Architects, Yerevan
1979 - Latvian Union of Architects, Riga
1978 - Armenian Union of Journalists, Yerevan
1974 - Armenian Center for Cultural Connections with Foreign Countries, Yerevan

After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, when the country was going through difficult period and the demand of architecture was stopped Vladimir started to paint, after more than 30 years of pause. He has travelled to various countries, painting in the streets, exhibiting and celling his paintings right there in the streets. Moscow, Vienna, Florence, Paris, Stockholm…

In 2001 Vladimir started to exhibit in the well-known art exhibition in the center of Yerevan, at Vernisage after Martiros Saryan. In 2007 Vladimir exhibited at International Florence Bienalle of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy.
In 2008 he was invited to exhibit at the Embassy of the United States in Armenia with several artworks.

Since 2001 Vladimir Shahinyan has created dozens of canvases most of which has been sold out to join private collections all over the world. All the artworks are available at the webpages, which are being updated regularly.
