Victor Korotkov was born in 1971 in Russia.
Victor's desire for painting became apparent in his school years. Like many teenagers, he was engaged in graffiti, and later became a tattoo artist.
When Victor met the famous artist Sergey Kiselev, who inspired him to change his direction of art, Victor began to paint the world around him on canvases using oil paints. This successful idea led Victor to soon paint around 100 paintings, most of which found their place in private collections in Russia and Europe. Also, his paintings contributed to exhibits in China.
In 2017, Victor and his family moved to the Pacific island of Guam. There he continued his creative work. New creative ideas emerged with palm trees, limitless oceans and turquoise lagoons. Victor paints art in a naturalistic style and the main aspect of his work is to reflect the many shades of light using oils and acrylics. In his work, Victor likes to emphasize fine detail. Tourists from the US, Japan, Korea and the Philippines highly appreciated his paintings. Today, some of Victor's paintings decorate hotels in Guam.
Victor now lives with his wife in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The city is filled with historic architecture. Numerous bridges have taken their place in his paintings. The surrounding landscape includes the rivers Allegheny and Monongahela. There are also several vast forests. The lighting plays a key role as well as shadows. There are many sunrises and sunsets over the city along with buildings reflecting over the water. All of this began to appear in Victor’s new paintings and enriched his collection. Many paintings are exhibited at The Manos Gallery in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. Victor is constantly looking for new ideas and gets inspired when the colors fall on the canvas.
