Viki Smoliar

I was born in the port city of Odessa, Ukraine, into a family of filmmakers, and from a young age, I was surrounded by art. This creative atmosphere nurtured my love for visual imagery, light, color, and their endless variations.
In my work, I employ mixed media techniques by applying paint layer upon layer, allowing the image to gradually emerge, transform, and gain depth. I enjoy watching this transformative process, where every new stroke adds fresh meanings and emotions to the painting.
My art is a quest for harmony—a means of conveying sensations and inner states through the interplay of colors and textures. I strive for my works to evoke emotions in the viewer, to immerse them in a unique atmosphere, and to leave space for personal interpretation.
