Artist Viсtor Molev (Canada)"From the Shining Void" 2022 61x61cm Oil on Canvas.
The picture is a free fantasy on the theme of the song of the same name by B. Grebenshchikov from his Album "Kostroma mon Amour":

In the Iron Palace sin live our sweet enemy:
It hooves and tail, and gold embroidered vest —
And somewhere in love with him maiden fifteen years,
Because neighbors bored, and with it — maybe not.

Beat in crimson bells; save all virgins from him a scoundrel;
Put them all under lock and attach to the door seal.
But the maiden morally strong and passion as do not like to be bored,
And to build a palace for yourself, and find how to cause the tenant.

Sailing ship on the sea, from the chimney smoke birch;
On the bridge, the captain himself, all in white, with a copper pipe.
And from floating sea serpent and drags him along;
But if it does not know about, it is possible for a long time to be young.

If I had one, I would have looked for a lifetime, where are you;
If we had a hundred, we would sing a round table —
And unknown to us, but it seems
Hawk with clear wings,
Looking at yourself and us out of radiant emptiness.

So leave all worldly affairs and leave for Tibet
Walk from Nepal to Sikkim mysterious mountain path;
And our captain to sail the maiden fifteen years,
They give birth to children and become themselves.

If I had one, I would have looked for a lifetime, where are you;
If we had a hundred, we would sing a round table —
And unknown to us, but it seems
Hawk with clear wings,
Looking at yourself and us out of radiant emptiness.

B. Grebenshchikov

Victor Molev is a contemporary award-winning Canadian artist. He is working in the styles of Decorative Realism, Fantasy, Symbolism and Surrealism. In the mid-1970s, as an aspiring young artist, he took drawing and painting lessons under the apprenticeship of Moscow sculptor Tatyana Vishnyakova. But it wasn’t until his early twenties that Molev became familiar with the works of Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Rene Magritte, M.C. Escher and Frank Frazetta through books and magazines. Molev was incredibly inspired by these artists which became like mentors to him.

After receiving an education in architecture, the artist worked in the field for ten years. He then worked as a set designer at the Pushkin Opera and Ballet Theater. Both of these jobs are still reflected in the creative processes of the artist. He has created his own unique and intuitive world of dreams and absurdity. His works are sincerely naive and kind.

Victor Molev was born in 1955, in Gorky, Russia. His works were exhibited all over the world, including the Art Museum of Saint-Frajou, France. Molev has also participated in numerous international competitions of humorous drawing, and won numerous silver and bronze medals.

The Artist was highlighted in an article in Artmajeur Magazine:
