I'm a Visual Artist based in Mumbai, India. I recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with excellence from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. As a curious person, I constantly seek to interrelate every happening, object or experience in daily life, through my perceptions. In my works, I cultivate singular, explicit forms and diagrams recording various concepts like thought visualization, experiences, the subconscious and life patterns. I correspond with the notions of human visual perceptive skills, nature of thought and experience, the interrelation between plants and humans, Pareidolia (a tendency of ‘seeing’ faces) and anthropomorphism. I seek to create compositions which delve into a realm of unique fantasy and imagination.
I use a range of media including paper pulp, burlap, wool (Synthetic), embroidery threads, denim and other worn-out fabric, collage, watercolour, pastels, oil pastel, acrylics and oils, also digital illustrations and renditions of my explorations. I feel, working in a single medium restricts our creative process. Each idea manifests in its way through us and chooses its congruent medium instinctively.
Some of my undergraduate works were exhibited in a group show ‘Habitat’ curated by the Art curator Sonal Motla, at Hirji Jehangir Gallery, Jehangir Art Gallery in Kala Ghoda Art Festival, 2020 in Mumbai.
