His approach to art is conceptual and interdisciplinary, addressing the viewer from a personal perspective. After returning to Kyrgyzstan in 2022, Valentin began work on House 41, a landmark project in his artistic career. The project helped him make sense of his experience of displacement and new identity, existing as an outsider in a world oppressed by the Soviet Union, the remnants of which he grew up in. Valentin has a background in photography, and his works reflect his personal experiences and explore philosophical themes such as memory, temporality and death. He currently lives and works in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
