Since childhood I have loved nature, history, myths and fantasy in all its forms. I have tried to never lose the sense of mystery and wonder a child has for the world into which we have been thrust. I have always expressed this in writing, drawing, painting and sculpture. Largely self-taught, I tried to follow in the footsteps of my heroes. I did a foundation art course at Barnfield college, Luton, but never got to go to university. I spent some years in the wilderness, getting my art up to commercial standard whilst working as a museum restorer, being an Angry Young Man and a roadie for a punk band. Through my interest in RPGs I fially got my first professional work published by Games Workshop, and for a few years I was able to support myself by illustration.....until the recession of the nineties hit. I'd split with Workshop and the rest of my customer base more or less went to the wall and the few important commissions I was getting were not enough to cover my mortgage, so I quit it and went back to education. I came away again after securing a degree in Psychology from Luton University, and met the love of my life, and started a family. Though I'd dearly love to get back into illustration full time, I no longer have the contacts and can't get an agent (so far) so I've been forced into a factory job to support my family. Of course I haven't given up and I still get a trickle of commissions. My recent appearance on the internet has already turned up some nice opportunities. Who knows where it could lead?
