I've been painting since my youth. I was deeply influenced by the Bavarian Alps and the Southern Black Forest, where I lived for a few years. I later came to Düsseldorf for work. I was always drawn to the mountains, and later also to beautiful coastal landscapes. I also painted in my professional life in the Rhineland. Since my retirement and my move to Eitorf an der Sieg, I have been painting even more. My painting developed from hiking and the diverse impressions of the landscape that I gained. The desire arose in me to express my experience of nature in pictures. I've been self-taught through books and webinars, I've attended exhibitions and learned from other academic artists in their studios. Painting is an ongoing process, one never ends.
